Score 96/100 · Drink 2025-2035, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2025

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville one of the most potent wines in this range of 2015s from Favia. Dark red/black fruits, gravel, incense and mocha build in a layered, opulent Cabernet Sauvignon that has so much to offer. At ten years of age, this is still quite the powerhouse. What a wine.

In the same ballpark, yet in a richer, more flamboyant style, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville boasts a deep purple color as well as tons of cassis and blackberry fruits intermixed with lots of leafy herbs, tobacco, and a Graves-like gravelly minerality. With full body, building tannins, and a layered, concentrated style, drink it any time over the coming 20-25 years.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville comes from Oakville Ranch, perched just below Ovid on Pritchard hill and above Dalla Valle. Composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it has a deep garnet-purple color and opens with classic crème de cassis, baked plums and blackberry pie scents plus nuances of Indian spices, cigar box and potpourri. Full, super concentrated and built like a brick house, it has a firm frame of ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness matching the densely packed layers, finishing with great length and depth. 207 cases produced.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville hits the palate with serious density and pure power. All of the natural intensity of Oakville Ranch comes through in the glass. Bold, powerful and sumptuous, Favia's Oakville Cabernet is a typical 2015 that will drink well with minimal cellaring, although it also has plenty of potential to develop in bottle. Blackberry jam, licorice, crème de cassis and licorice add substantial weight and substance on this striking Cabernet Sauvignon.
