Score 89/100 · Drink 2000-2015, Robert Parker, Aug 2000

The 1995 Brunello di Montalcino is a dense, moderately tannic, peppery, spicy, meaty, cherry and plum-scented and flavored effort with good density, medium body, and attractive underlying acidity. It needs several more years of bottle age, but should drink well for 10-15 years. A Marc de Grazia Selection, various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel. Medium-deep red. Nose currently dominated by chestnut and exotic spice tones of nutmeg, mace, cumin and coriander. Sweet, thick and full-bodied, but not at all roasted or over the top. Really fills the mouth. Finishes with big, tongue-dusting tannins and verve.
