Tasting notes
Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Nuits Saint Georges Aux Perdrix 2011 has a very assured bouquet: well defined with copious red and black brambly fruit, briary and wild hedgerow coming through and a fine underlying minerality. The palate is crisp and taut, fine tension here and with a keen, silver thread of acidity. I am looking for a little more substance toward the finish as it feels just a little too linear at the moment, although with continued aeration it coalesces and evolves a silky smooth texture.

Bright dark cherry colour. Ripe, sweet red fruit, rich smelling. Sweet/sour fruit flavours, juicy and energetic. Acidity sticks out a little on the finish. (JH)
