Tasting notes
Sometimes this site can seem to gravitate toward the elegance of Les Pucelles, whereas sometimes it nods to the power and musculature of Bâtard. The latter is the case for the 2023 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, a full-bodied, dense and ample wine evocative of peach, orange oil, honeycomb, buttered toast and white flowers. This is a rather structured, imposing Bienvenues that will reward bottle age.

The 2023 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a stern, backward, petrichor- and limestone-scented bouquet that is quite Zen-like after the range of Premier Crus. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a silver bead of acidity, gaining weight in the mouth and very saline on the finish with hints of orange zest on the aftertaste. Excellent.
