Domaine Leflaive

Domaine Leflaive is arguably Burgundy’s most famous white wine producer, setting the benchmark for top-quality Chardonnay in the Côte de Beaune and the world. The property is the largest land-owner in Puligny-Montrachet, with extensive holdings in the village and five hectares of Grand Cru vineyards

While the family has been growing vines in Puligny-Montrachet since 1717, it wasn’t until the 1920s that the Leflaives started to bottle wine under their own name. Joseph Leflaive was the pioneer. He took over the estate in 1905 and, following the phylloxera crisis, started replanting the vineyards and expanding the domaine, buying up more vineyards in the region.
