The 2023 Meursault Sous Le Dos d'Ane 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet with fresh white fruit, Anjou pear and crushed limestone scents. The palate is well balanced and quite linear in style, strict for a Meursault. Perhaps the Puligny Village has more flair and terroir expression at the moment. Give this 12 to 18 months.
Tank sample. Clementine nose. Immediate impact: this is beautiful. It’s clementines but it tastes of stones, of arched stones. Perhaps there is something of roasted nuts. Perhaps thyme, dried, tucked deep into its folds. The texture is deeply creamy. An almost invisible wraith of smoke. Very exciting, very compelling. There's a story in here. (TC)
