Score 93/100 · Drink 2025-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2024
Produced from vines planted between 1925 and 1932 in Comblanchien (just over the wall from Mugnier's 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale), Galeyrand's flagship 2022 Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Retraits wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries and sweet berries mingled with notions of incense, orange zest, rose petals and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, it's supple, seamless and sensual, its sweet structuring tannins almost entirely concealed by an enveloping core of fruit.
