Tasting notes
The 1998 Mas Martinet Viticultors Priorat Clos Martinet is a beautiful wine that blends ripe fruit with awesome acidity, precision and depth. The nose is clean, bright and pure with sour black cherry, raspberry, minerals and smoky resiny aromas. The palate is medium bodied, structured and tight. Just silky, smooth and shows fantastic fruit, awesome texture and a very long finish.

The 1998 Clos Martinet boasts a dense purple color, and a huge nose of liquid minerals, blackberry liqueur, and cassis. Full-bodied and unctuously-textured with terrific presence on the palate, this large-scaled effort is never heavy or overbearing. Sweet tannin in the finish suggests 2-3 years of cellaring will be beneficial, but readers can drink it now as well as over the next 12-18 years.
