Score 91/100 · Drink 2019-2031, Jeb Dunnuck, Nov 2019
All destemmed and aged in 50% new oak (15-18 months), the 2016 Marsannay Clos Du Roy is impressive, with beautiful scorched earth and gunpowder-like minerality as well as plenty of ripe red and black fruits, crushed flowers, and orange pith aromas and flavors. Beautifully balanced, with fine tannins, medium body, and beautifully integrated acidity, this elegant, seamless wine will keep for 10-12 years.
