Tasting notes
There is a certain bashfulness on the nose of the 2012 Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru La Riotte at the moment, although the palate is nicely configured with a keen thread of acidity cutting through the citrus-fresh red berry fruit. There is not a huge depth here and yes, the finish is a little austere at the moment, but it will repay another 3 or 4 years in the cellar. This is turning out to be one of Laurent and Hubert's more cerebral offerings this vintage.

(these vines are situated at the foot of Clos Saint-Denis; 25% new oak): Palish medium red. Tight nose hints at redcurrant and spices. Juicy and nicely delineated, offering very good intensity to the flavors of redcurrant, cherry and spices. Finishes with fresh, granular tannins and very good length and lift.
