Healthy full red. Aromas of black cherry, minerals and leather. Juicy and energetic, conveying attractive lift and definition to its cherry fruit. Hail cut production here by 87%, said Pierre Rovani, who added that the harvest was done virtually berry by berry. Remarkably, this wine shows considerable class and avoids dryness.

Dark stone fruits, spices, menthol and licorice open up in the 2013 Beaune Les Grèves, another wine that carries with it the scars of a very difficult growing season where hail was especially punishing.
The 2013 Beaune 1er Cru les Grèves, which is a domaine wine, has a slight reduction on the nose, underneath lies blackcurrant and raspberry pastilles, hints of crème de cassis developing with time. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity, nicely structured with a succulent, sorbet-fresh finish that leaves spicy aftertaste. Fine.
