Tasting notes
Heger's 2022 Ihringer Winklerberg Grauburgunder 1G displays a straw-yellow color and opens with a clear, intense yet also refined and elegant, seriously substantial and mineral-scented bouquet of ripe fruits and crushed salt. Full-bodied but refined and elegant on the palate, this is an intense and complex, beautifully balanced yet also stimulating, silky-textured, dry Pinot Gris with a long, very elegant finish. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in November 2023.

Such a delicate and subtle wine for a serious dry pinot gris. The musk and floral honey elements beautifully interwoven with the restrained melon fruit. Moderate acidity, but there is so much stony minerality plus citrusy freshness that this is irrelevant. Long, creamy and stony finish. Drink or hold.
