The Echezeaux was superb in 1987, but I could not help noticing it smelled like Syrah rather than Pinot Noir. Skeptics of the Guy Accad style of winemaking will say the wine does not taste like Echezeaux. However, it is a great wine, impressively colored, rich, and full. This is a wine to drink by 1996-1997 and appreciate for its wonderfully pure, hedonistic, seductive fruit and voluptuous texture.
