2013 Riesling Idig Grosses Gewachs

Ripe yellow plum, hyacinth, lime and pine nuts on the beguiling nose. Succulent mango fruit and delicately interwoven acidity are in perfect balance on the palate. Rich and succulent, with a hint of lemon oil on the very long, stately finish, this is the most ample, layered and complex of the estate's dry Rieslings. It's also one of the finest in Germany from the 2013 vintage.

Christmann's 2013 Konigsbacher Idig Riesling trocken GG is one of the dry German Riesling highlights of the vintage. Intense citrus colored it starts very aromatic on the nose displaying ripe and ultra ripe fruit aromas with powdered chalk, lime, and sweet herbal aromas. Full-bodied, with a juicy and salty palate, this is a very complex, elegant and persistently mineral Riesling of great intensity, length, and expression. This is a really great wine – impressive today but you’d better wait for it another 5 or 6 years.
