Smoke, funk and flint cloud the nose of the 2021 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Auslese. Underneath, there is a touch of shy fruit which becomes wonderfully clear on the palate: tart Mirabelle jelly, with an urgent, pervasive, delicious freshness heightening the balanced sweetness even more. A yeasty texture adds an extra dimension but it is the fine, bright acidity absolutely guiding this wine. Totally mouth-watering. (Sweet)

The 2021 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Auslese is clear, bright, fresh and highly refined on the fascinating, coolish, pure and detailed nose that shows crunchy slate aromas and very delicate lemon fruit. Filigreed and delicate on the palate, this is a lush but light, highly finessed, stimulating and saline Auslese that already drinks beautifully. It's playful but noble and of great, great elegance and finesse. 7% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2023.
