Score 94/100 · Drink 2030-2065, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Feb 2026

The 2022 Maximin Grünhaus Abtsberg Kabinett is deep, intense and sulfurous on the nose, which indicates a wine still to be aged for about five to eight years. Round, lush and intense on the palate, this is a light- to medium-bodied, savory, moderately sweet and finely tannic Riesling with savory character and an intense, fruity, well-structured finish. 8% stated alcohol plus 51 grams per liter of residual sugar. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in January 2026.

RS 51 g/l. Oil, lime, honey, cinnamon, floral – a prototype of the style. The sweetness is overt but not dominating. Fairly brief, but that's not a problem at this level. (RH)

AP number 05 23. Very pure and already approachable. Definitely worth paying the premium over the Herrenberg! (JR)
