Pale ruby. Less expressive than the Vieilles Vignes and still pretty chewy but I think it probably has the bones for future development. (JR)

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Etelois has a slightly meaty bouquet, hints of dried blood infusing the raspberry and cranberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins and well-judged acidity. Quite sapid in the mouth and maybe just needs a little more weight to come through on the finish. Capable rather than extraordinary.
