Tasting notes
The 2014 Niederberg Helden Riesling Auslese offers a clear, intense and finely concentrated bouquet of white fruits and some flinty aromas along with speculoos flavors. Sweet and delicate on the palate, this is a light, lush and juicy, nobly textured, very refined and finesse-full Auslese; it has a pure and piquant finish, and a lovely salinity. Great finesse and lightness here. Very digestible.

Exotic, dense nose. Excellent extract. Masses of acidity. Edgy and extremely youthful. Quite a bit of sulphur in evidence. (JR)
Concentrated pear and white peach run from the nose through the long, glowing finish, with subtle creaminess and interplay of stone and peach kernel lending allure on a near-weightless midpalate. Wet stone is omnipresent, and botrytis conveys a gorgeous sense of prominently perfumed honey to which hickory nut and peach kernel piquancy offers counterpoint. Yet there is downright infectious fresh juiciness here such as is seldom found in an Auslese.
Sulfur quite evident on the nose. Sweet honey and lemon on the palate. Lovely crisp and zesty finish. Pretty sweet but just balanced. (JH)
