Tasting notes
The bright and young, radiant citrus-colored 2011 Completer Malanserrebe opens with a deep, pure, clear, bright and fresh, stony bouquet of lemon fruits and wholemeal bread. Round and lush as well as delicate and saline on the palate, this is a full-bodied, perfectly balanced white with firm but fine tannins that intermingle with the saline terroir notes of this enormously complex and powerful Completer. It has a rich and very intense finish and can be aged for generations. 13.7% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in Malans, February 2023.

Subtitled 'Malansrebe' (grape from Malans). This is a real rarity from eastern Switzerland; only 3ha in 2009! Fine, somehow 'green' aromatic nose (marked acidity though a substantial wine). Full bodied, creamy and only slightly leesy with a strong mineral undertow. Serious white wine! Long and reverberant. Pungent and racy. (JR)
