Score 86/100 · Drink 2015-2021, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2015

Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Griotte Chambertin Grand Cru from Réné Leclerc has a rather staid nose, quite earthy and a little austere. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannin and a lack of fruit that leaves the middle feeling hollow. It picks up some flesh towards the finish, but it leaves it too late to fully compensate. Pretty but lacks substance.
