("Alea" is indicated with a neck label; this is the only premier cru Trapet produced in 2013 due to the tiny yields): Bright medium red. Floral, musky aromas of peppery redcurrant and raspberry reminded me of a barrel sample. Boasts good volume and supple texture for such a sappy, juicy wine, with deep black cherry fruit framed by brisk, integrated acidity. The wine's inner-mouth tension lifts and extends the finish.

(this is the only premier cru Trapet produced in 2013; in fact, he declassified some of his premier cru juice into the village wine and reserved the best juice for this cuvée ): Bright red. Deeper on the nose than the Ostrea if still rather reduced, offering good spicy lift to the red berry and smoke aromas. Intensely, sappy and saline wine with firm underlying minerality and nicely integrated acidity. This classy, soil-driven Gevrey-Chambertin is a bit austere today but should make a very suave drink with six or seven years of cellaring.
