Tasting notes
The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Village comes from two different climats , and was matured in one-third new oak. The bouquet is very intense, featuring dark cherry, cassis and subtle iodine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, fine grip, good volume for a Village Cru and a grippy, quite dense finish. This will probably peak after most of the bottles have been drunk.

A more deeply pitched nose reflects notes of dark currant, plum, warm earth and a whisper of the sauvage. There is both good intensity and detail to the lightly mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that culminate in a mildly austere and rustic but solidly complex and persistent finish. This too is a competent effort.
