The 2023 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru offers up aromas of plums, dark chocolate, orange zest, spices and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively and sapid palate, with a sweet core of fruit, fine tannins and a mineral finish.
Cask sample. Mid ruby. Ah, that lovely Morey-St-Denis depth. Excellent balance between firm, well-knit tannins and deeply coloured cassis and mulberry fruit. It’s all beautifully restrained, quite bold but dignified. Lovely elegance and freshness. Deeply satisfying. (MH)
The 2023 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has a vivacious bouquet with Morello cherries, raspberry and wilted rose petal that blossoms in the glass. Wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with pure black cherries, blueberry and violet fruit. Gentle grip, tightly wound, at first but opening with aeration, silky smooth toward the prolonged finish. Beautiful.
