Interesting nose than combines liquorice and damp rope. Relatively light in body with quite marked acidity on the finish as though the fruit were fading rather – but then this is a 17-year-old village wine... A second bottle was rather fresher. (JR)

The ruby-colored 1999 Chambolle-Musigny has demure, red berry and fresh herb aromas. Sweet red cherries and tangy currants can be found in this refined, light to medium-bodied, and firm wine. It will be delicious to drink in its youth, but should not be cellared for more than 2 or 3 years.
