2015 Laurent Perrier Brut

The 2015 Brut Millésimé, a blend of half Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and half Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, spent at least seven years on lees. Supple smokiness and a sense of rye bread with distant plum create a subtle nose. The palate continues with that lovely smokiness, wrapping it around aromatic plum and taut lemon, which are delicious counter poles in this elegant wine. The bubbles are a little frothy, but it acquits itself well for a 2015 vintage with all its freshness. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. (Lot LP33UK01624E) - Anne Krebiehl MW

Disgorged in September 2024 with a dosage of eight grams per liter, Laurent-Perrier’s 2015 Brut Millésimé—an equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir—unfolds with aromas of white peach, lemon zest, jasmine and pear, with a subtle hint of passion fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, taut and pillowy, though it lacks a little flesh, displaying a chalky character and vivid acidity before tapering off into a saline, mouthwatering finish.

50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir. Mostly grand cru and premier cru. Fleshy, rich, very saline and on the lighter side of the Champagne style. I prefer the Blanc de Blancs NV for its complexity and richness. Toastiness and smoke on the finish. (RH)
