Tasting notes
The 2018 Canon Pécresse has improved since I tasted it earlier this year, adding floral aromas of violets and roses to its attractive bouquet of dark berries and menthol. Medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, this is a lively, concentrated wine that finishes with a long, saline finish.

Based on 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, from a tiny 5-hectare vineyard on the upper plateau of Canon Fronsac, the 2018 Château Canon Pecresse offers an impressive array of ripe currant and cherry fruits as well as notes of cedary herbs and earthy minerality. It's medium-bodied and elegant on the palate, with silky tannins and outstanding balance. Give it a few years and enjoy over the following decade.
The 2018 Canon Pécresse is loaded with inky dark fruit, chocolate, new leather, spice and lavender. This bold, exuberant Canon-Fronsac has much to offer. I would prefer to drink it young, while the fruit remains vibrant.
The 2018 Canon Pécresse is a bold, juicy wine. Black cherry, chocolate, spice, new leather and cocoa give the 2018 its dark, intense flavor profile. I would prefer to drink this dense, fruity Canon-Fronsac over the near-term. Tasted two times.
