Tasting notes
Deep ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, faint ochre brightening on rim. Sweet plum, a hint of liquorice, some nougat and tobacco, fine noble wood touch. Juicy, fine fruit expression, ripe tannins, good freshness, complex and adherent, pleasant minerality on the finish, has potential.

Tobacco, smoke, wet earth, coffee bean and red fruits show on the nose and palate. The wine is medium-bodied, polished, fresh and forward. You can drink this on release while waiting for the Grand Vin to develop.
Cask sample. Luscious fruit with plum, milk chocolate, floury tannin and a lovely leafy note on the finish – positive bitterness, Negroni style. The acid cuts through those fibrous tannins, and there is persistent black fruit promising well for the future.
Very attractive blackberry, blackcurrant and crushed-stone character on the nose and palate. It’s medium-bodied with creamy tannins and a fresh finish. Attractive second wine of Pape Clement.
