Plums, baked red cherries, and myriad spices make up the aromatic profile of the 2003 Charmes-Chambertin En Mazoyeres. Broad, ample, and seductive, this sultry effort is medium-bodied, awash in fresh red cherries, and reveals copious quantities of sweet tannin. Projected maturity: now-2014. Importer: Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines Company, New York, NY; tel. (212) 419-1400
Medium red. Wild red fruits, leather and flowers on the nose; comes across as more vibrant today than the foregoing samples. Juicy, lively and intensely flavored, with good grip and verve. Not particularly complex but nicely balanced in the context of the year. Finishes with firm but ripe tannins.
