Tasting notes
The 2000 Optimus is composed of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Syrah, and the rest Zinfandel and Petit Verdot. It possesses composty, earthy characteristics along with red and black fruits in the attractive, elegant, medium-bodied, accessible personality. Interestingly, both Optimus cuvees are far more user-friendly and meant for earlier consumption than the Estate or Syrah offerings. This impressive winery is doing everything right, and it merits more attention than it has received to date. Tel. (805) 227-1588

About the producer

L’Aventure is one of the leading wine estates in Paso Robles, California. It was founded by Stephan Asseo and his wife Beatrice who left their native France in 1997 in search of a place to make wine without the restrictions of France’s appellation system.
