2012 Calvert Pinot Noir

Good full red. Aromas of black cherry, red licorice, mint, herbs and pepper. Ripe acidity gives shape to the intense dark berry and mint flavors, with an herbal note providing lift. This nicely dense, sweet pinot displays good cut and definition. Still a bit clenched on the back end, finishing with a piquant peppery nuance and good verve. This should mellow out with a few years of additional bottle age.
