The 2018 Fixin Village was blended and tasted from foudre. It has a pretty bouquet of red cherry and bergamot tea, nicely defined and lifted. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins, good acidity and a fresh, quite saline finish. Drink over the next three to five years.

Four parcels. Fermented in concrete then aged in barrel, none new. Moved to foudre (40 hl) 6 weeks ago and about to be bottled. This sample taken from foudre. Subtle, peppery dark-red fruit. Firm, finely chewy, nicely dry. Honest and harmonious. Lightish on the mid palate but good length. Not particularly intense. Persistent, savoury finish. (JH)
