Tasting notes
The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits-Monts 1er Cru is yet another with a hefty reduction on the nose, but it lifts to reveal edgy redcurrant and cranberry fruit, light ferrous notes, damp loam and minty aromas. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with bitter cherry and strawberry. Sharp acidity here, linear and punchy in style, though it does not deliver the grace and complexity I expect from a Vosne-Romanée plus a little green on the finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Petit Monts 1er Cru has quite a perfumed nose with dried rose petal filtering through the brambly red fruit, touches of tobacco. The palate is livelier than the Les Chaumes with more tension, moderate weight with a slightly oaky finish.
