Darker fruits, plums, chocolaty herbs, and damp earth all define the 2023 Château Canon Pécresse, a polished, elegant Canon Fronsac with a Pomerol-like style. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has a round, supple mouthfeel and terrific balance. I like it today yet see no reason it shouldn't keep for 10-15 years in cold cellars. Drink 2026-2041.

The 2023 Canon-Pecresse is a big, potent wine. Succulent dark red plum, coffee, blood orange, menthol and pomegranate saturate the palate. This heady, opulent wine is not at all shy. It offers tons of exuberance and sheer power from start to finish.
The 2023 Canon Pécresse has quite a loamy nose, dark berry fruit mixed with brown spices, a little more austere than expected. The palate is medium-bodied with sharp tannins, fine acidity, though a little dryness on the finish. This seems to have suffered during its barrel maturation. Two bottles tasted.
The 2023 Canon Pecresse is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of blackberry pie, kirsch, and licorice leap from the glass, leading to hints of iris, forest floor, and wild thyme. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock full of lively berry flavors with a soft texture and refreshing line, finishing with a savory lift. This is nicely done!
