Same old vines as in the Rosso 2014. Shiny brick red. Sweet and sultry on the nose. Deep and with mature undergrowth mixed with spiced, sweet red senescent fruit. A fine chewy texture and finishes with mouth-watering freshness. (JH)

The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Ragnaie V V represents a clear step up in terms of intensity and complexity next to the Brunello annata. This expression shows more bulk and muscle compared to the base wine. Its appearance is darkly saturated and rich. The nose shows a thick patchwork of dark cherry, plum, spice, leather and grilled herb aromas. The mouthfeel is round, supple and soft initially, but tends to show some thinness on the mid-palate. This is a common characteristic among wines from this vintage.
