Score 92/100 · Drink 2020-2036, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2019

One of the smallest cuvées in the cellar is the 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers, a beautiful wine that derives from a small parcel at the southern end of this large premier cru. Unfurling in the glass with scents of red berries, blackberry, cassis, grilled meat, peony and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and layered, with a textural attack and powdery tannins, concluding with a fragrant finish. Duroché didn't destem this cuvée at all.

Domaine Duroche

Domaine Duroché has, under Pierre Duroché, become one of the most sought-out and respected wine domaines in Gevrey-Chambertin. The wines are delicate and detailed, yet with old-vine intensity, a clear sense of place and style – and it’s easy to see why they’ve rapidly become so in-demand.
