A moderately toasty nose of spicy, cool and quite reserved red and dark berry fruit, humus, earth and a hint of exotic tea aromas leads to vibrant, detailed and precise large-scaled flavors that possess a lovely sense of controlled power. There is fine complexity and outstanding length to the again moderately toasty finish that isn't intrusive but close to it.

(50% whole clusters): Dark, bright red. Brooding aromas and flavors of black fruits, pepper and dark chocolate. Lush and sweet on the palate but can't quite match the Bonnes-Mares for depth or energy. Finishes with very round tannins for the vintage, although the medicinal black cherry fruit suggests that this wine will shut down in the bottle.

Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s oldest and most established wine producers. Founded in 1731 by Michel Bouchard, it is the largest vineyard owner in the Côte d’Or with 130 hectares of vines.
