Score 91-93/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2021

There are five and a half barrels of Dugat's 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin La Marie, a richer, more muscular wine that delivers aromas of cassis, cherries, dark chocolate, spice and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, layered and velvety, it's deep and concentrated, standing out as one of the richer, broader-shouldered wines in the cellar.

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin La Marie, which was isolated from the Gevrey-Chambertin Village for the first time in 2018, has a fresh, well-defined bouquet of black cherries and wild strawberry fruit mixed with crushed stone, the floral element heightened with time in the glass. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry with a light tang of marmalade, and white pepper and a touch of sea salt on the finish. Very harmonious. This is a charming Gevrey.
