Mid to light crimson. A little more stemmy/herbal than the Aloxe-Corton Coutière though I don’t know if there is a whole-bunch component. Delicately scented and refined in texture, stony/mineral, but perhaps a little lean on the mid palate. What it lacks in intensity/richness it makes up for in aromatic lightness of touch. I admire the subtlety and restraint here. (JH)

Unfurling in the glass with notes of red berries, plums, peony and orange zest, the 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux is medium to full-bodied, satiny and precise, with a fine-boned, lively profile and beautifully powdery tannins that gently assert themselves on the finish.
