The 2021 Chablis Vaucoupin 1er Cru is shrouded by some SO2 on the nose. The palate is quite raw and sharp, missing cohesion, with some attenuation on the finish. It just seems to be a Vaucoupin thrown off-balance by the challenging growing season.

No marked oak or vanilla. A little richer and more compact than the Chablis, with good weight and length on the palate. Not exactly strident, but good. (MH)
