Tasting notes
RS around 4 g/l. Fermented in 1,200-litre oak and kept long on lees. A little too young to drink, says Haag. Very lightly fumy on the nose, suggesting spontaneous fermentation and adding complexity to the purity of grapefruit and crushed stones. Dry, tense and primary. Refined, a little clenched at the moment. Cool and long. (JH)

The 2021 Brauneberg Riesling Trocken "J" is from the Juffer and Juffer-Sonnenuhr and opens with a clear and intense nose of ripe fruits. Partly fermented in large oak, the 2021 "J" is lush, round and pure, very elegant and stimulatingly savory. It's bone dry but structured and asking for patience. 12% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted from AP 17 22 in July 2022.
