Tasting notes
The organic Brezza 2019 Barolo Cannubi pours from the bottle with dark concentration and extra richness. On the nose, you recognize cherry fruit, spice and fragrant tea leaf. It's amazing how different the denser 2019 vintage is from the warmer 2020 vintage. The wine starts off in stainless steel for eight months and moves over to large Slavonian oak casks for 24 months. Production is 9,354 bottles plus large formats.

Barolo. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Minerally, spicy nose with beautiful, perfumed red fruit underneath that is really slow to emerge. Elegant and refreshing but with firm tannins. The long and tannic finish is almost a little mouth-watering but the fruit prevails. (WS)
The 2019 Barolo Cannubi is one of the best wines I have tasted from Brezza in a very long time. Sweet, perfumed and silky, the 2019 bristles with Cannubi character. Crushed red berry fruit, cedar, mint, rose petal and orange zest are some of the notes that grace this exquisite but potent Barolo. Give the tannins a few years to soften.
