Tasting notes
50% whole-bunch fermented, 40% new oak. Soy, aniseed, black cherry, toasted spices, earth, mushroom. Riper cherry fruit than their Burgstadter Berg, as you'd expect. Smoky and fragrant on the finish. (RH)

The 2021 Spätburgunder Centgrafenberg GG is pure, fresh and spicy on the coolish and ethereal nose that is provided with a spicy cherry aroma and iodine notes, Silky, fine and elegant on the palate, this is a lush and textured, even quite charming 2021 with an intense, saline and finely tannic, structured but also vital finish. Still very tight and somewhat closed, this will be a favorite Pinot in five or more years. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024.
AP number 18 23. Very pale crimson. Sweet and agreeable and easy. Not a copy of Burgundy but its own style. Very appetising, with a firm, very slightly rusty-nails finish. (JR)
TA 5.2 g/l, RS 0.1 g/l. Deep chocolate and mocha aromas, warmer red fruits than on the Schlossberg. Linear palate with good spice and sweet fruit. The whole package is rather closed right now. Ethereal and drying spice on the long finish. (PS)
