Bright medium red. Reticent but aromatic nose combines red berries, burnt orange, minerals, flowers, cardamom and star anise. Enters silky and sweet but ultimately displays less depth and concentration than the captivating nose suggests. Doesn't quite deliver in the middle palate but finishes with good sneaky length and harmonious tannins. Will this expand with time in bottle?
Good deep red. Musky but reticent on the nose, not currently showing the perfume of the Clos Saint-Denis. Supple, sweet and large-scaled, with a flavor of wild raspberry, but at the same time rocky and closed. Best today on the long, building finish, which features a suave, fine-grained texture and sweeter tannins than the Clos Saint-Denis, which is a somewhat bigger and more masculine wine.
