Tasting notes
Rather severe and tough at the moment. It will presumably turn into a swan but it's quite demanding at present. (JR)

(50% new oak): Dark red with ruby tones. Lively aromas of blackberry, cassis, dark plum, licorice and mint, accented by fresh herbs. Densely packed, energetic and light on its feet, conveying a cool, minty character to its black fruit flavors. Plenty of oak showing here but this premier cru has the thickness and medicinal reserve to support it. Finishes a bit youthfully tight, with firm tannins and piquant minerality.
The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Chatelots has a crisp and precise bouquet, here, a mixture of red and black fruit with a floral element, hints of crushed violet surfacing with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a velvety texture, a silver bead of acidity, veins of blood orange struck through the red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit, the openness on the finish belying the structure underneath. This is just superb.
