Tasting notes
The 2014 Pinot Noir Aidan Wildrose Vineyard is the biggest and most dramatic of the Sonoma Coast Pinots. Broad, ample and creamy, the 2014 boasts superb depth and overall intensity. The sheer richness of the fruit pretty much buries the 40% whole clusters. This is an exceptionally polished and beautiful Pinot from DuMol and Andy Smith.

Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2014 Pinot Noir Aidan was made with 40% whole cluster, which contributes an savory/earthy/herbal character over notes of red currants and black raspberries plus a hint of tar. Medium-bodied with a very lively acid backbone and solid frame of chewy tannins, it delivers plenty of juicy fruit and good persistence.

The 2014 Pinot Noir Aidan Wildrose Vineyard is all about tension and energy. Beautifully chiseled throughout, the 2014 is loaded with the essence of dark red/purplish fruit, wild flowers, mint, cinnamon and crushed rocks. I very much like the verve in the 2014, a wine that is shaping up to be a real gem.
