Tasting notes
The 2007 Barolo Vigneto Cannubi emerges from the glass with layers of sweet red fruit supported by the silkiest of tannins. Sweet floral and spiced notes follow, adding further complexity. The Vigneto Cannubi captures the essence of the generous vintage in this site, in an expressive, open style that shows beautifully. The warm growing season gave the wine a little more mid-palate stuffing, not a bad thing for this very classic producer.

In recent vintages, the wines have been especially strong. Importers: The Rare Wine Co., Sonoma, CA; tel. (707) 996-4484 and Bacchanal Wine Imports, Port Chester, NY. tel. (914) 481-5171
Barolo. Concentrated ruby with narrow orange rim. Serious if a touch leathery. Compact and a touch sweet. Seems the fruit is held back. (WS)
