The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Saint-Georges 1er Cru has admirable transparency and delineation on the nose with vivacious red cherries and wild strawberry fruit that unfurl in the glass. Decent fruit concentration - more than their '21 Vaucrains. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, clean and precise, the new oak deftly embroidered with a lingering, quite citrus-fresh and minerally finish that is very appealing. This needs time but I can see it building. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Saint-Georges 1er Cru has an attractive mulberry- and redcurrant-scented nose, with slightly peppery hints of potpourri. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, white pepper and clove tones. It's a little austere on the finish but well balanced and fresh. Very fine.
1.08 ha (2.67 acres). Mid cherry. Intense nose of red and black fruits (almost a touch of cocoa richness), mature raspberry and black cherries. All lifted by some florals too. Lots of structure and power, but more concentration than bludgeon, and definite finesse on the long finish. Doesn’t feel like 14.5%! Cracking, but very young. (MH)
