Tasting notes
Fresh, dark red. Aromas of black raspberry and violet, plus a sexy hint of leathery reduction. Black raspberry and spice flavors display an alluring balance of sweetness and acidity. Fine-grained tannins should not get in the way of enjoying this sappy village wine early for its easygoing fruits and flowers.

The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Village comes from the usual 11 parcels scattered around the village. It offers rounded, quite sensual red cherry fruit on the nose, later wild strawberry and a touch of violet. The palate is well balanced with fine-grain tannin, smooth and again sensual with the 100% new oak barely noticeable toward the finish.
100% new oak, 300-litre. Barrel sample. The only blend among his wines, from 11 different vineyards and 5% premier cru. Mainly clay soil at the bottom of the slope. Deep purplish crimson. Very deep and dramatic. Racy and lively and pure. Really very exciting. Long. Very long. Hugely attractive already. (JR)
