Tasting notes
The concentrated 2020 Saint-Joseph Blanc Lieu-Dit is a tiny step up from the Saint-Joseph Blanc. Honeysuckle, spring blossom, white peach, yellow apple, cedar and vanilla introduce it. Drink this mid-weight, charming Saint-Joseph Blanc over the next handful of years.

While this cuvée was previously brought up in 100% new barrels, that's been pulled back to just 50% new oak today, although it was never overtly oak in my opinion. Golden apples, ripe peach, integrated oak, and a touch of minerality define the 2020 Saint Joseph Lieu-Dit Saint Joseph Blanc, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a concentrated, layered, elegant mouthfeel, wonderful balance, and a great finish. I'd be thrilled to have a bottle on the dinner table. It should have a solid decade or so of longevity.
A minor touch of vanilla and spice adds nuance to the fresh citrus on the nose. Bright, fresh, and crisp with a nice staying power in the finish that has you going back for another sniff and sip. Drink from 2023-2027.
One of the whites of the vintage in the appellation, the 2020 Saint Joseph Lieu-Dit Saint Joseph Blanc has awesome notes of quince, grilled peach, honeysuckle, and spicy wood. With medium to full-bodied richness, the balance is perfect, its oak is nicely integrated, and it has a great finish.
