Tasting notes
The 2021 Volnay Les Lurets 1er Cru has an airy, perfumed, rose-petal-tinged bouquet with wild strawberry and raspberry fruit. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied and quite firm with strict tannins, crunchy red fruit and a dash of black pepper towards its almost Pommard-like finish. Give it a couple of years in bottle. Three barrels were produced.

The 2021 Volnay 1er Cru Les Lurets mingles aromas of dark berries and cassis bud with hints of spices and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and concentrated, this parcel was heavily frosted, exhibiting a layered core of fruit framed by powdery tannins.
About the producer

Having established Domaine des Comtes Lafon as one of the finest addresses in Burgundy, Dominique Lafon set up an eponymous négociant business in 2008. The vines are all farmed by the Lafon team and the wines generally leaner than those of Comtes Lafon, with less new oak.
